Perched on top of a hill our farm, created by our family in the early 1800's, looks like a small hamlet with a beautiful view, on the sunset side, on the rolling hills and the island of Elba. Nice flight video over the Vecchienna Hamlet, the forest and San Giuseppe farmhouse. Today, Vecchienna produces cereals, olive oil, ages tasty Pecorino Cheese and breeds Limousine cattle. All our products are quality labelled with the Agriqualità symbol, signifying respect "Agriqualità for nature". We also rent a beautiful house ("podere San Giuseppe"), with 4 bedrooms (sleeps 8).
Limousine cattle are highly muscled cattle originating from the area around Limoges, France, called Limousin. They are horned and have a distinctive dark-red color. Limousine is a sturdy breed well Visata San Giuseppe 2adapted to our region. Limousine cows are known for their ease of calving (low birth weights), a high ratio of carcase to live weight as well as an excellent ratio of meat to carcass. Their meat is tasty and lower fat than others.
